Hi, my name is Amy! I’m a modern quilt and pattern designer, magazine contributor and creative workshop creator.
I grew up surrounded by sewing and crafting but I didn’t start sewing myself until just before my son was born. I loved the precision of patchwork quilts right away and the ability to make them my own by combining different fabrics and colours. I enjoyed following patterns, in fact I still do, but I soon found myself thinking of my own designs and enjoying the extra level of creativity that brought to the whole process. And it was having all those ideas that made me submit my first pattern to a quilting magazine. I now design sewing projects and write articles for several British quilting magazines.
I like to design patchwork quilts with impact and strong use of fabrics, but with patterns that are still suitable for beginners. I love using a variety of shapes for English paper piecing designs and the first pattern I released as CRS was my Kaleidoscope Pattern Match…a pattern matching-fussy cutting technique pattern that doesn’t need any templates.
When I’m not sewing or dreaming up sewing patterns, you’ll find me doing the school-run mum thing, watching boxsets with my husband or stomping round the Yorkshire countryside (I love fresh air!)… pretty much always with a coffee mug in my hand.
