What if you always knew how to mark, sew, press and piece so that your patchwork blocks were never pointless?
That’s exactly why I created Pointless, because I want to be able to help you create perfect patchwork points without always reaching for the seam ripper or, worst still, having to remake quilt blocks.

I’ll walk you through all the basics for creating perfect patchwork points including best techniques for marking, sewing, pressing and trimming. You’ll learn more than ten different methods for making half square triangles and flying geese. Plus how to successfully make a feature of different fabric types (including my S.E.W.N. N.E.W.S. method for predicting fabric directions) and use half square triangles and flying geese in your patchwork projects.
Right now you’re struggling with making half square triangles and flying geese with perfect points and seam lines. You find it hard keeping the points in the right place when you piece your patchwork projects. And don’t know how to feature fabrics in different ways.
Imagine if you never lost any of your points into patchwork seams, you always knew how different fabrics would look in a project, and you had a wide selection of different methods for making half square triangles and flying geese.
Make sure your patchwork triangles are far from…
Hi I’m Amy!
I’m a quilt pattern designer and patchwork teacher.
While I help hundreds of beginner and intermediate quilters up their patchwork precision and sew with confidence today, I was once a beginner too. I lost triangle points in seams, ended up with upside-down fabric prints and only knew one or two methods for making half square triangles and flying geese. What I learnt over years of trial and error (and a “wing it and see” attitude!) is what I’ll teach you in just one day inside this course. And that’s why I created Pointless, so you always have perfect patchwork points.
Here’s what you’ll learn inside Pointless…
Your four lessons are split into bite-size video tutorials:
The Basics – answering the questions “what is a half square triangle” and “what are flying geese” plus tips and tricks for marking, sewing, pressing and piecing.
Half Square Triangles – an in-depth look at six different construction methods (including step-by-step video tutorials), plus the pros and cons of each one.
Flying Geese – an in-depth look at five different construction methods (including step-by-step video tutorials), plus the pros and cons of each one.
Patchwork Projects – tips for keeping points in your patchwork projects, fabric focus including fussy cutting tips and how to use directional prints, and a look at patchwork blocks that use half square triangles and flying geese.
Plus bonus features!

Frequently asked questions about Pointless…
Can I use this course as a total beginner?
Absolutely! I walk you through everything right from the very basics but still go into lots of detail too. As a beginner I think you’ll make much faster progress by knowing and understanding key skills right from the start of your patchwork journey. I wish I had seen a course like this when I first started making quilts and other patchwork projects, it would have saved me a lot of time and frustration!
I have a really basic sewing machine and not many tools.
Can I still get perfect patchwork points?
Definitely. In lesson one you’ll learn about a handful of useful tools and you will probably already have most/all of them. Getting perfect patchwork points is about understanding exactly how to make and piece them rather than just having a fancy sewing machine!
I don’t have lots of spare time to work for ages on one skill. Is that OK?
I’ve broken all the lessons down into short videos so it is easy to stop and start without losing your place.
I have a busy few weeks coming up so won’t be able to start right away. Is that a problem?
No problem at all. This course is totally on demand so you can start whenever you are ready, and that means you can work you way through the lessons at your own pace too.
But I recommend buying it now as the price will be going up!
How long do I have access to the course?
You have life-time access! You can go at your own pace and come back to the course over and over again if you need to.
Who is Pointless for?
We’ve all been there! At some point everyone has been at the beginning of their patchwork quilting journey. And what a great time to jump in and make much faster progress by knowing and understanding key skills right from the start. Without accurate points you’ll never reach patchwork perfection but don’t worry… you’ll learn how to achieve them and much more inside Pointless.
The Struggling Patchworker
Maybe you’ve been sewing for a while but you still always struggle to make half square triangles and flying geese with perfect points and seam lines. If this sounds like you and you want to work towards patchwork perfection then Pointless is for you.
The Aspirational Quilter
You’re a confident patchwork quilter but want to take your makes to the next level. Perhaps you can make a batch of perfect half square triangles and flying geese but then when you piece them into your patchwork project some of the points aren’t in exactly the right place or get a little bit chopped off in the seams. Or maybe you find it hard to predict which way up a fabric print will be once it’s pressed across a half square triangle or flying geese diagonal seam, and you end up with directional prints that are upside down or sideways in your final projects. If you’re ready to become a perfect patchworker then Pointless is for you.
